Paris, Part 2a

Saturday, February 6, 2010, Bus Tour and Eiffel Tower

Saturday we got up early for a bus tour of Paris. It was rainy and cold so I was glad we weren’t walking. We stopped at Notre Dame, which was incredible. The tour ended at the Eiffel Tower, which is not nearly as impressive by day. We waited in line and rode up to the second highest viewing level. The highest was closed, I believe due to the inclement weather.

Paris is a circle city. Everything rotates on top of itself, and Paris drivers are crazy. Bikers, even more so in my opinion.

There are so many gorgeous buildings serving completely normal purposes. "Oh, that's just the police department!" or "Oh, that is a hospital. Pretty, right?"

There are also giant statues on every corner. Most of them have some obscure meaning I was too busy taking pictures to remember.

Just your average Parisian street. This was on our walk around the neighborhood Notre Dame is located in. Each corner also features a church.

The oh-so-famous Arc de Triumph. It's actually double sided, so you can cross under it North, South, East, or West.
